BMA Ergonomics started in 1988 as an advice service but noticed there was a lack of good quality ergonomic office chairs on the market. BMA Ergonomics therefore transformed themselves from a consultant to a designer and started to manufacture ergonomic products. The BMA product range has expanded from simply office chairs to the inclusion of 24 hour chairs, visitor chairs and footrests. BMA Ergonomics have also developed their own 'Smart Technology' within the Axia chairs which includes sensors linked to your computer and advise if/when your posture needs changing.
In July 2015 BMA Ergonomics became a sub-brand of Scandinavian Business Seating (SB Seating). The Axia office chairs remain their best-selling chairs with more than 900,000 people sitting on one.
