Modern Slavery Statement
Introduction
Back Care Solutions are committed to continuously monitoring and improving its standards to combat slavery and human trafficking in its business operations and supply chain.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It outlines Back Care Solution’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ended 31 March 2019 and covers the activities of Back Care Solutions Ltd as a whole.
Organisational Structure And Supply Chair
Back Care Solutions use a wide range of suppliers who manufacture and supply goods for sale in a wide range of countries around the world.
Having reviewed our business operations and relationships, we believe that the area of highest modern slavery risk is in our supply chain manufacturing, particularly where those suppliers are in high-risk countries. This covers both the production of goods and the conditions in the workplace and the potential for human trafficking when transporting goods.
Due Diligence
Back Care Solutions carries out comprehensive due diligence on suppliers in high-risk areas and has developed very clear and robust procedures for assessing and auditing those suppliers. This ensures that we only select suppliers who comply with our high standards and policies.
All suppliers which we class as high risk must:
- Complete a Modern Slavery Act Due Diligence questionnaire which covers their governance, policies, training and supply chains management processes
- Provide a full and complete list of all sites they are proposing to commission goods from on behalf of Back Care Solutions on an annual basis.
All manufacturing sites must then provide an annual Independent Ethical Audit to ensure ethical standards and full transparency are maintained.
Future
We will continue to review our procurement process and engage with our suppliers to ensure our supplier policies are met. We also plan to review our Responsible Procurement Policy and will provide further training on modern slavery as appropriate.
