ErgoDriver Back Support Product Details
ErgoDriver is the first back support that can be tailor-fitted for individual support, allowing drivers to benefit from a support that has been specifically created for their own physical requirements. The ErgoDriver will fit to most vehicle seats, including cars, vans, LGV’s, HGV’s, coaches and industrial vehicles.
Drivers’ seats typically come in one size and are not designed to accommodate individuals with postural issues. Ordinarily, this would be a problem, especially for people who spend a lot of time driving. However, ErgoDriver presents a solution for drivers with special postural needs without the need to retrofit car seats which is prohibitively expensive and only suits a single driver in a single vehicle.
The posture support is customisable with air cells that can be positioned exactly where support is needed and repositioned thanks to the Velcro attachment system. Each air cell has its own inflator bulb which allows for total control and adjustability. These features make ErgoDriver versatile and also future proof.
The build quality of the support is excellent with a layer of memory foam for comfort and high-performance Spacetec 3D fabric to ensure breathability, freshness and long-term use.
A 3-way harness system enables the support to fit securely to most vehicles and these straps ensure the support does not move once attached to your seat.
Ease of portability means that drivers can take the support with them wherever they go, ensuring use across multiple vehicles at work and at home.
ErgoDriver is available in the following configurations:
- Lumber air support cell as standard
- Triple reactive air cell
- Full set air support cells
Sacral and thoracic upgrades are available.
Ergonomic Benefits
Ergonomic products can significantly improve your health and wellbeing at work and allow you to perform at your best. Good sitting posture means your ears, shoulders and pelvis are kept in alignment. A back support promotes this good posture as it physically prevents you from slumping which can cause flexion stress. Back flexion can lead to discomfort and in the longer term could cause a musculoskeletal injury. With a back support in place, you should sit so that your back remains flush with the backrest as this provides the correct amount of support. Similarly, the support should not push your back forwards as this can overly accentuate the natural curvature of your spine.
If you have an ergonomic office chair, the chances are your chair will have some form of built-in back support and better still the chair will have been specifically designed to suit your body requirements. However, there may well be many instances where the place you sit has inappropriate back support, if any at all. An ergonomic back support is perfect for these situations as it enables you to convert your chair into something with improved postural support. Depending on the portability of the back support this can also be suitable while commuting on public transport, in your car and when flying.
If you have had an injury, a back support could help aid the rehabilitation process. The support will allow you to relax so your body can begin and maintain the healing process, free from stress and strain.
