HandShoe Mouse Shift Product Details
HandShoe Mouse Shift has been developed through scientific research by a Dutch medical university in Rotterdam and has been tested in several large organisations for almost two years. During these tests, many people who were suffering from RSI or Carpal Tunnel Syndrome have enjoyed improvements from using the mouse.
The mouse provides excellent support for your hand, fingers and thumb with your hand resting on the mouse at an ergonomic angle of 25°. This posture requires the least muscle activity in the hand when using the mouse, resulting in reduced neural excitation. The special ergonomic shape of the mouse, including thumb platform, allows your hand to relax, prevents excessive thumb action and relieves the thumb joint. Moving the mouse is also easy as it is free to glide around, without your hand contacting the work surface, thus minimising skin contact which may hinder movement and cause irritation.
The mouse buttons are positioned in-line with your fingers and require minimal switch or reaction forces to operate. This minimises the exertion required to use the mouse which helps protect against strain, fatigue and RSI. Left and right buttons and a scroll wheel are provided, plus the ability to switch from right to left hand by toggling the button on the underside of the mouse.
HandShoeMouse Shift is wireless and connects via Bluetooth. On a full charge, the mouse will deliver around 4 to 6 weeks of operating time and can still be used while charging via the supplied USB cable. The mouse provides a fixed pointer speed value of 1000 (DPI) and is perfectly matched to comfortable and efficient mouse work.
Ergonomic Benefits
The chances are you are spending a vast amount of time at work and at home using a computer for tasking and recreation. This invariably means using some form of mouse or touchpad to fulfil your duties. Over time, the focussed and repetitive movements of mouse work can lead to musculoskeletal disorders and affect your performance. This makes the mouse an incredibly important part of your workstation.
Ergonomic mice are quite diverse and one that is correctly specified will not only meet your physical needs, but also help you to optimise your workspace. The mouse should safeguard you from the risk of pain and injury and also allow you to work efficiently and accurately.
A study has found out, that highly intense use of the finger, while handling a regular computer mouse, may lead to hand or finger aches and pains, eventually resulting in chronic complaints. A statically and dynamically stabilised finger and hand palm arch is needed to help prevent these complaints. Research has also shown that a palm supporting surface provides a better solution to prevent neck, shoulder, arm, and hand complaints. Therefore, it is recommended to use a computer mouse which minimises or even eliminates the grip forces to hold the mouse.
Ergonomic mice can help with conditions like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Repetitive Strain Injury and Arthritis.
